In fact, we recommend that, when possible, choose different routes for your travel to and from Yosemite. Each of these travel routes has its own unique combination of stunning scenery, unique attractions and history to keep you entertained, and to make your trip more memorable.

ORANGE – San Francisco to Yosemite National Park (195 miles)
This route starts in one of California's most popular and stunning cities, San Francisco. Start your Yosemite trip in San Francisco and follow this most direct travel route to the national park, traveling eastward through Oakland and Oakdale.
RED – Phoenix, to Yosemite National Park (Via Flagstaff, AZ and Las Vegas, NV) (900 miles)
Phoenix is Arizona's biggest city and is a destination in its own right. This is a great route for travelers wanting to experience the Southwest and the country's most popular natural wonder, Grand Canyon, on their Yosemite vacation. Start in Phoenix before continuing north to to Flagstaff and west to Las Vegas then through Fresno to south entrance of Yosemite National Park.
GREEN – Salt Lake City, UT, to Yosemite National Park (693 miles)
Salt Lake City, UT, is a tremendous outdoors and cultural destination from which to start your vacation to Yosemite National Park, and hopefully other great regions of the western U. S. This route travels across the top of Nevada through Wendover, Reno, and Carson City, NV, before traveling through the Lake Tahoe region to Lee Vining, CA, and the East entrance to Yosemite. (Note: The East Entrance is open only during peak summer months)
PURPLE – Salt Lake City, UT, to Yosemite National Park (Via St. George and Vegas) (860 miles)
This route starts in Salt Lake City, UT before traveling south on I-15 through Utah to Cedar City and St. George, UT, a beautiful city that provides close access to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park, before continuing to Las Vegas, NV, through Death Valley National Park before arriving at the prize destination, Yosemite National Park.
YELLOW – San Diego, to Yosemite National Park (via Oceanside) (395 miles)
This routes starts in a very popular destination in its own right, San Diego, CA. From San Diego, travel to beautiful Oceanside before continuing to Santa Clarita, Bakersfield, Fresno and then to Oakhurst, into the West Entrance of Yosemite National Park.
BLUE – Seattle, WA, to Yosemite National Park (932 miles)
Start your Yosemite vacation in the gem of the Pacific Northwest, Seattle, WA. From Seattle, travel south through Portland, OR and into northern California, through the towns of Redding, Sacramento, Manteca, and Oakdale before arriving to Yosemite National Park.
