East Entrance Area Accommodations
You can escape some of the park's heaviest summer crowds by staying in the eastern Sierra Nevada. On US Highway 395, Lee Vining sits on the shores of scenic Mono Lake, while Bishop and Lone Pine are full of Western lore, and all have family-friendly motels and hotels. Farther north are the four-seasons resorts of Lake Tahoe and the casino hotels of Reno and Carson City in Nevada. When staying near Yosemite's east entrance, keep in mind that the Tioga Road is usually only open from early June through mid-October.
